Housing Authority, City of Fort Myers welcomes Dr. Catherine Lamberg as chief operations officer

The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers has hired Dr. Catherine Lamberg as its chief operations officer.

In this position, Lamberg will direct and implement strategies, policies and procedures to maximize the operations, goals and mission of The Housing Authority. She will also assist with the budget, manage communication with key partners and interpret federal, state and local regulations to make policy and program recommendations to ensure compliance.

Previously, Lamberg’s career included various roles with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), where she served for 37 years as a civil servant in the Office of Public and Indian Housing and as the director of the office of public housing in various HUD field offices, including in Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia and Indiana.

She started with HUD in the Office of Multi-Family Housing and Property Disposition before transferring to the Office of Public Housing, where she also served as the director of the Troubled Agency Recovery Center and as HUD-appointed administrative receiver.

Lamberg earned a Bachelor of Science in sociology, a Master of Business Administration and a Doctorate of Education Administration. She holds many housing industry-related certifications, including Certified Apartment Manager, Certified Occupancy Specialist, Certified Manager of Housing and more.
