Lee County reminds residents that there is still time to participate in a short survey that will help staff better understand people’s knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding fertilizer use and its impact on local water quality.
Residents are encouraged to take the Fertilize Smart Survey by the June 30 deadline. Even if you have taken the survey in the past, the county encourages you to do it again.
The results of the survey provide valuable insights on the community’s understanding of the impact of fertilizer use on water quality.
Excess nutrients from fertilizers can contribute to harmful algal blooms, water pollution and environmental challenges that affect Lee County’s rivers, estuaries, beaches and neighborhoods. By participating in this brief survey, residents can help shape future education, outreach and conservation efforts.
The survey only takes a few minutes to complete, and the responses will help Lee County make informed decisions that protect Lee County’s natural resources and quality of life.
