8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Healthcare Network, a nonprofit health center working to ensure primary care is accessible to everyone, has opened Pediatric Convenient Care hours on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nichols Community Health Center, 12655 Collier Blvd. in Golden Gate.
Services are available for sick children without an appointment, with pharmacy services available for prescriptions and over-the-counter care.
“We continue to look for ways to offer access to care that are needed by our community,” said Jamie Ulmer, Healthcare Network president and CEO. “Pediatric Convenient Care will allow flexibility for parents and caregivers outside of regular work hours and is just one of the ways we are expanding care to our community.”
Pediatric Convenient Care is designed for children who need treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Examples of some illnesses that can be treated include upset stomachs, colds and flu, minor injuries and fevers. The onsite pharmacy offers convenient and cost-effective prescriptions, as well as over-the-counter drugs and other pharmacy services. For qualified patients, certain medications can be available at reduced prices through the 340B Program.
