Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida promotes John C. Fletcher III, Tom Van Pelt and Julie Blauman

Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida is pleased to announce the following executive leadership promotions: John C. Fletcher III, “Trey” has been promoted to vice president of administration and will continue to serve as general counsel. Tom Van Pelt was promoted to vice president of operations. Julie Blauman, PHR has been promoted to vice president of human resources.

“Healthcare Network is committed to cultivating and advancing leaders from within, and we are fortunate to be able to do so. These talented and committed professionals bring expertise, vast institutional knowledge, and leadership to their respective roles, and they will be key in advancing our mission and ensuring our successful growth” said. Dr. Emily Ptaszek, who was named president and chief executive officer (CEO) in August.

Fletcher will be responsible for the legal affairs of the organization, including serving as advisor to the executive team on issues including statutory and regulatory requirements, contractual issues, legislative affairs, board governance and employment, in addition to overseeing compliance and risk programs, health information management, information technology and human resources along with the president and CEO. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Auburn University and cum laude with a juris doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of Law. He has been with Healthcare Network for 6 years.

Van Pelt will be responsible for enhancing the operational effectiveness of the organization, working cross functionally to identify and execute process improvements to elevate the customer experience, enhance workflow, improve the work environment and ensure continual readiness for accreditation and certification. He will oversee operations, mobile operations and electronic health records as well as nursing along with the chief medical officer.  He graduated cum laude with a degree in business administration from New Hampshire College. He has worked in health care for more than 41 years, including 20 years in the U.S. Navy, 6 years with the Women’s Health Foundation and 5 years with Healthcare Network.

Blauman will be responsible for leading, developing and executing the human resources strategy in support of the organization’s overall business plan and strategic direction, including cultivating a positive company culture by recruiting, developing, recognizing and retaining the best talent. She brought a wealth of human resources leadership experience to Healthcare Network when she started July 2018 as human resources manager before being promoted to director of human resources.
