GuideStar has awarded Guadalupe Center a Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest rating level reserved for nonprofits that fully disclose their strategies, metrics and achievements.
GuideStar, the world’s largest source of information about nonprofit organizations, offers four rating levels for nonprofits: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. The Platinum Seal of Transparency indicates that an organization has disclosed pertinent information outlining its goals, strategies, capabilities and accomplishments, as well as detailed budget information.
“Guadalupe Center is blessed to enjoy strong support from its generous donors, business partners and philanthropic organizations,” said Guadalupe Center President Dawn Montecalvo. “We share all of our financials and success data because we want our supporters to see their return on investment, but also that we’re proud of the impact we’re having on students and families in Immokalee.”
Guadalupe Center’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education for the children of Immokalee. Among its notable successes are that 95% of students in the nationally accredited Early Childhood Education Program meet or exceed kindergarten readiness standards, 100% of students in the After-school Tutoring & Summer Enrichment Program demonstrate significant gains in reading and math, and 100% of students in the college-preparatory Tutor Corps Program complete high school and pursue a college education.
Across Florida, 187 nonprofits classified as educational organizations have earned GuideStar’s Platinum Seal of Transparency. Guadalupe Center also has earned its fourth consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, which evaluates nonprofit organizations on their financial strength, accountability and transparency.
