Guadalupe Center has announced its 2019 Signature Event will feature a theme of “Old Hollywood: The Glitz, The Glamour, The Giving.”
The Signature Event will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples. “Old Hollywood” will offer a nod to the Golden Age of Hollywood in the early- to mid-1900s.
In addition to revealing the theme, Guadalupe Center also has announced a limited number of sponsorship opportunities, including the coveted position as presenting sponsor.
Guadalupe Center’s Signature Event is a festive annual gala, dinner and auction that directly supports the nonprofit organization’s three educational programs: Early Childhood Education, After-School Tutoring & Summer Enrichment, and Tutor Corps. In 2018, the nautical-themed “Welcome Aboard” raised $1.3 million.
“Old Hollywood” will be chaired by Mary McCabe, a longtime supporter and president of Guadalupe Center’s advisory board. She chaired the 2016 Signature Event – “Dazzle” – that raised a record $1.5 million, as well as “Aqua” in 2015 that raised $1.2 million. With a flair for creating captivating and inspired décor, McCabe is looking to add her signature style to “Old Hollywood.” McCabe already has secured Warren Priske’s Old Hollywood Swing Band, based in New York City, to set the tone for a night to remember.
“Mary is a creative genius whose expertise in event planning and execution never ceases to amaze us, and it’s all tied into her passion for Guadalupe Center,” said Dawn Montecalvo, Guadalupe Center president. “She will create a fun, entertaining event that will also leave our supporters with a better understanding of Guadalupe Center and its impact on the lives, hopes and dreams of our students.”
Guadalupe Center’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty and create endless possibilities through education for the children of Immokalee.
In addition to Priske’s 11-piece swing band, dinner and a live auction, “Old Hollywood” begins with a cocktail reception where supporters have an opportunity for one-on-one conversations with Immokalee High School students participating in Guadalupe Center’s college preparatory Tutor Corps program. A Tutor Corps student will deliver a compelling personal story during the event.
Sponsorship opportunities include: Presenting Sponsor ($50,000), Diamond Sponsor ($25,000), Platinum Sponsor ($10,000) and Gold Sponsor ($5,000). Each sponsorship level includes event tickets, invitations to exclusive events and recognition in event programs and at the event. Individual event tickets are $500 each.
