Greater Fort Myers Chamber’s Feb. 22 ‘Talking Baseball’ luncheon to share business insights for baseball season

The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22 will focus on all things baseball ahead of Southwest Florida’s spring training season.

The Chamber’s “Talking Baseball” program will feature a panel of senior management from the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins, focusing on 2024 spring training and industry insights. Attendees will leave with information that they can take back to their businesses to capitalize on spring training crowds.

Luncheon speakers include the Boston Red Sox’s Chief of Baseball Operations Craig Breslow and Chief Marketing Officer Adam Grossman, Minnesota Twins President & CEO Dave St. Peter and Minnesota Twins President of Baseball Operations Derek Falvey.

Breslow joined the Boston Red Sox in October 2023 after working for four years in various roles with the Chicago Cubs. In his current position, he is the team’s lead decision-maker on players, coaches and personnel. Breslow is a former professional baseball pitcher, playing 12 seasons in Major League Baseball for multiple different teams. He also pitched for Team Israel at the 2017 World Baseball Classic. He double majored in college and received his bachelor’s degrees from Yale University.

Grossman is the Chief Marketing Officer of the Boston Red Sox and started with the organization in 2004 as a special assistant to the CEO. He led the club’s efforts to connect with younger and diverse audiences, including partnering with Nike to launch the first City Connect uniforms and building the largest student ticketing program in MLB. Throughout his career, he has been committed to social justice work and expanding the DEI efforts within the organization. He received his bachelor’s degree from Duke University and was awarded an Eisenhower Fellowship in 2014.

St. Peter was named the fourth president in Minnesota Twins’ history in 2002, and as president and CEO, he continues to oversee the team’s day-to-day operations, strategic planning and interaction with Major League Baseball. He joined the organization as an intern in 1990 and held a variety of positions over his first decade with the franchise. Under his leadership, the Twins established a new single-season franchise attendance record in 2010 by attracting more than 3.2 million fans to Target Field. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota.

Falvey is responsible for establishing the vision and related strategies for the Minnesota Twins’ baseball operations. He oversees the major league team, coaches and support staff, contract negotiations, player development, scouting, research and development, medical and communications. Under Falvey’s leadership, the Twins have reached the post-season three times in his seven seasons. His baseball career started with Cleveland Guardians, where he held a variety of positions over nearly 10 years with the franchise. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Trinity College.

The February luncheon will take place at JetBlue Park, located at 11500 Fenway South Drive in Fort Myers. Admission is $35 for Chamber members and $40 for future members and includes lunch.
