Over 13 years, the annual charity golf event has raised nearly $650,000 for area nonprofits
Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church’s 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament held March 16 at The Club at Gateway raised $100,000, which will be divided evenly between Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and Community Cooperative.
“We are so blessed and grateful for community support like that of Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church, which helps advance treatment for our young residents and keeps them close to home,” said Katy Martinez, senior director of development for Lee Health Foundation.
The tournament attracted 139 hole sponsors and 124 golfers and included golf and dinner. Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church is a multi-generational community that offers ministries for all ages through youth programs, Bible study and various small groups. To learn more, visit GTLC.org.
“The community response has once again been overwhelming this year as it has for the last 12 years,” said Russ Reynolds, the church’s tournament director. “Our golf tournament is less about golf and more about hope, compassion, and generosity for those who need help in our community. For all those who participated in golf, attended dinner or became a hole sponsor, thank you for providing help for today and hope for tomorrow.”
The portion of funds donated to Golisano Children’s Hospital will benefit the Pediatric Neurosurgery Program.
