Fort Myers Miracle, Scotty’s Bierwerks to unveil ‘Scotty’s Miracle Blonde Ale’ on Friday

Baseball and beer go together like peanut butter and chocolate, so the Fort Myers Miracle are proudly introducing the team’s very own craft beer in time for the 2018 season.

The Miracle teamed with Scotty’s Bierwerks in Cape Coral to create Scotty’s Miracle Blonde Ale, a light, refreshing ale with a straw yellow color and soft malty sweetness, subdued fruitiness and a crisp finish.

The first draft will be poured at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 at Scotty’s Bierwerks, 901 E. Industrial Circle in Cape Coral. Scotty’s and the Miracle are inviting everyone ages 21 and older to mark the occasion with a cold brew to cap off the work week.

“We are excited to join Scotty’s in unveiling a beer with our name on it,” said Chris Peters, president and general manager of the Miracle. “Much like the Fenway Frank in Boston or the Dodger Dog in Los Angeles, we hope Scotty’s Miracle Blonde Ale becomes synonymous with Miracle baseball and is the beer of choice for baseball fans and beer lovers across Southwest Florida.”

In addition to Scotty’s location, the Miracle Blonde Ale also will be served at Hammond Stadium during Minnesota Twins spring training games and Miracle games.

Since opening in March 2017 with a 20-barrel brewing system, Scotty’s has become known as much for its freshly brewed ales, lagers and IPAs as it has for fun events like trivia nights and Food Truck Fridays.

“We’re a brewery that offers traditional-style beers, and we can’t wait for everyone to try our new blonde ale,” said Scott Melick, owner of Scotty’s Beirwerks.

Scotty’s Bierwerks is open 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays through Sunday. The Twins kick off spring training games on Thursday, Feb. 22, followed by the Miracle’s season opener on Thursday, April 5.
