Fort Myers Brewing Company to host holiday celebration for National Beer Day on April 7

Fort Myers Brewing Company, Lee County’s first microbrewery, is recognizing National Beer Day on April 7 with a special holiday celebration featuring beer, food and live music.

National Beer Day commemorates the date, April 7, 1933, that Franklin Roosevelt signed a law permitting Americans to brew and sell beer.

Fort Myers Brewing will have 20 beers on tap for National Beer Day, including several specialty and small batch brews. The culinary team from Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille will be serving appetizers and entrées from the restaurant’s food truck, and North Island Duo will provide musical entertainment in the afternoon.

Fort Myers Brewing also will release two new cans of its popular drafts on National Beer Day: Clean Shave, a popular American IPA, and Sand Loafer, an American pale wheat ale that recently won a gold medal at the 2019 Best Florida Beer Competition.

The family-friendly event will be held on Sunday, April 7 at Fort Myers Brewing Company, 12811 Commerce Lakes Drive, Suite 28, in Fort Myers. Hours of operation are noon to 8 p.m.
