All employees of Florida Senior Consulting, the state’s leading privately-owned senior advocacy and placement firm, have completed their Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) training and have earned their CDP certifications.
To strengthen the skillsets, understanding and empathy of its team as they advocate for seniors and their families who are navigating dementia and Alzheimer’s care, Florida Senior Consulting recently hosted training sessions to support all employees in achieving this designation. Florida Senior Consulting’s entire company became certified through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP), an organization that provides world-class education on dementia and offers over a dozen dementia certifications.
“I’m very proud of our team for their dedication to excellence in the field of memory care and for their continued compassion and advocacy for those living with dementia,” said Scott Miller, CEO of Florida Senior Consulting. “Empowering our team with the knowledge and resources to earn their CDP certifications is reflective of our commitment to helping seniors and their families navigate the best care and living options for them.”
CDP certification is available to all healthcare professionals, as well as medical professionals who have at least one year of paid experience working with seniors. By becoming CDP certified, professionals demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of dementia care, which includes Alzheimer’s and the different forms of dementia. CDP certified professionals must be re-certified every two years.
Tara Jean-Baptiste, RN, CDP, CADDCT, of Heart, Body, & Mind Home Care led the training sessions for Florida Senior Consulting and is certified through the NCCDP.
