Florida Senior Consulting, the state’s leading privately-owned senior advocacy and placement firm, has donated $2,000 to the Dr. Piper Center for Social Services in support of the organization’s Christmas Celebration.
In honor of the season of giving, Florida Senior Consulting has launched an ongoing partnership with the Dr. Piper Center, including an initial monetary contribution and support of the organization’s toy drive. On Dec. 11, Florida Senior Consulting assembled bicycles for the Christmas Celebration, which will go to children visiting the Dr. Piper Center on Christmas morning.
The $2,000 donation will help to continue the mission of Dr. Ella Mae Piper and the Dr. Piper Center to positively impact Fort Myers seniors and children. Beyond the support of Dr. Piper Center’s Christmas Celebration, an annual event that brightens the holidays for at-risk children in Lee County, Florida Senior Consulting will utilize its preexisting audience of seniors to further the Dr. Piper Center’s mission of empowering and improving the quality of life for local seniors.
“We see true value in the Dr. Piper Center and the way it contributes to low-income seniors, and Florida Senior Consulting believes deeply in the act of giving back to the senior community that we work with,” said Rachel Byrd, regional manager of Florida Senior Consulting in Lee and Collier counties. “We want to make the Dr. Piper Center’s voice heard—that is our gift to them this holiday season.”
The Dr. Piper Center’s goal is to enhance the social and economic wellbeing of individuals 55 and older, as well as at-risk youth and children with special needs who reside in the Fort Myers community. The organization has several programs that serve seniors, including senior companions, who provide personal assistance and friendship to seniors, and senior employment, which provides education and learning opportunities to seniors.
Florida Senior Consulting’s partnership with the Dr. Piper Center began in mid-November and will include ongoing financial support and the use of its audience to spread the word about Dr. Piper Center’s programs and the need for more senior volunteers.
