Florida school district recruiting teachers, support staff at Appalachian State’s Education Career Fair on Oct. 29

The School District of Lee County, located in sunny Southwest Florida, will be participating in Appalachian State University’s fall Education Career Fair on Oct. 29.

Headquartered in Fort Myers, The School District of Lee County educates nearly 95,000 students and is the 33rd-largest school district in America. The District is recruiting prospective teachers and educational support staff.

The Education Career Fair is open to all Appalachian State students and alumni from the Reich College of Education, and runs from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29 at the Holmes Convocation Center, 111 Rivers St. in Boone, North Carolina. The School District of Lee County is hiring for the current 2018-19 school year, as well as evaluating candidates for potential employment in 2019-20. A variety of teaching positions are available for grades K-5, special education, science, mathematics, reading and language arts. The School District of Lee County’s efforts to put “The Right Talent in the Right Place” means that new teachers will receive the support and necessary resources that will enable them to succeed upon entering the field of education. The District offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation plan for its employees, and the starting compensation package of $52,984 for teachers encompasses salary, medical coverage and life insurance, pension and investment plan contributions, and social security and Medicare employer contributions. A relocation bonus may be available to assist with moving to the area.
