Elizabeth Cuevas joins Guadalupe Center as community and volunteer engagement manager

Elizabeth Cuevas, a 2014 graduate of Guadalupe Center’s Tutor Corps Program, has returned to the nonprofit as its new community and volunteer engagement manager.

As a member of Guadalupe Center’s philanthropy team, Cuevas coordinates campus and program tours for prospective donors, supporters, business leaders and community partners. Additionally, she works with individuals, civic groups, residential communities and businesses to promote volunteer opportunities within the organization.

Cuevas is among more than 240 graduates of Guadalupe Center’s college-preparatory program, which provides Immokalee High School students with college and career readiness programs, ACT and SAT test prep, mentorships, financial literacy and scholarship assistance, as well as wages for tutoring younger students. As a high school student, she co-founded Taste of Immokalee, a corporation with a mission to provide students with hands-on experience in all aspects of business, with a focus on social entrepreneurship.

After her high school graduation, Cuevas enrolled at one of Guadalupe Center’s partnership institutions of higher education, Arcadia University in Pennsylvania, and was named a Blankley Scholar, completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration with a concentration in management. Prior to joining Guadalupe Center, she worked as a human resources generalist and recruiter for Avow Hospice and human resources generalist for Hope Hospice.
