Design West, a full-service upscale interior design company, has launched its Smart Home Automation division, an emerging customizable home feature that allows users to control home security, lighting, entertainment and climate within their homes via mobile app. Edwin Rogers, Sr. has been appointed to lead the division as Bang & Olufsen and Smart Home Automation Manager. In this role, Rogers will oversee all faucets of the Smart Home Automation division including project management, consultation, ordering and programming.
The recent launch of the Smart Home Automation division allows Design West to offer clients more expansive smart products, servicing the entire home. Design West offers homeowners top-of-the-line equipment and versatile programming to control a wide range of home features, from the homeowner’s phone. Smart Home Automation utilizes IP camera surveillance, allowing users to monitor their homes remotely, which is ideal for home security, and pet and baby monitoring. Home security remote home access and IP camera monitoring options also allow users to access front and garage doors, and cameras can be utilized to see and welcome guests inside. Once Smart Home Automation is installed, users can easily control the temperature settings within their homes, pools and spas, maintaining an ideal climate at all times. These features, along with lighting, shading and entertainment systems, including television and stereos, can all be controlled through the use of a single, user-friendly mobile app, available for iOS and Android
Originally from Boston, Mass., Rogers received his Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University. He moved to the Naples area in 2002, and recently began working with Design West as brand manager for Bang and Olufsen, overseeing sales and service for Bang and Olufsen audio and visual products, along with launching Design West’s Smart Home Automation division.
