Cypress Lake Country Club has hired experienced PGA golf professional Brian Hart as membership director for the historic golf and tennis landmark in Fort Myers.
With more than 20 years of experience in the golf business, including 15 years at courses in Southwest Florida, Hart is a certified PGA professional with an extensive background in golf management and club operations.
As membership director, Hart will lead and manage all member recruitment and retention initiatives, as well as marketing and social media management for the club.
Cypress Lake Country Club offers both equity and non-equity golf memberships that provide year-round use of the golf course, clubhouse, practice facilities, tennis courts and dining rooms. Sports memberships include access to tennis courts, the clubhouse and dining rooms, as well as the option to play golf during the summer months for a fee. Social memberships feature annual access to the clubhouse and dining rooms.
Prior to his appointment at Cypress Lake Country Club, Hart was a head golf professional and director of golf at The Club at Gateway. Hart is certified through the PGA of America, a national organization of roughly 29,000 golf industry professionals.
Cypress Lake Country Club is Fort Myers’ oldest and most historic private golf course. In 2017, architect Ron Forse was brought in to restore the course to the original Dick Wilson design with modifications inspired by changes in golf equipment and technology. The private, members-only club spent $3.5 million on restorations, which included redesigned green complexes, sculptured bunkering, “runway” tees, new turf tee to green and a state-of-the-art irrigation system. Members enjoy six course options ranging from 4,715 yards from the forward tees stretching out to over 7,000 yards from the back tees. The tennis complex features six lighted Hydro-Grid Har-Tru clay courts with a pro shop. The warm and welcoming clubhouse is home to the talented culinary team who provide the perfect complement to a round of golf or a game of tennis.
