John Joyce, co-owner of CRS Technology Consultants, has been named a 40 Under 40 honoree by Gulfshore Business and Business Observer.
Both business publications honor rising stars in their respective industries as well as those making a difference in the community. Gulfshore Business is a monthly business magazine that circulates in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties. Business Observer is a weekly business newspaper that circulates from Tampa Bay through Naples on Florida’s Gulf coast.
Joyce earned a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Florida, where he founded Republic Technologies as a rising junior. By 2015, the company had grown to five employees when Joyce decided to merge with CRS Technology Consultants. Today, the company has 18 employees and about 140 partners. Joyce also hosts the weekly Solid State Podcast, addressing a range of consumer-oriented topics in technology, and is a monthly in-studio guest on ABC7’s Tech Bytes segment.
Joyce serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades, and leads CRS’ philanthropic efforts. After Hurricane Ian, Joyce transformed from business owner into IT first responder, helping local fire and rescue agencies restore their digital infrastructure so they could begin rescue operations. Through the IT Disaster Resource Center, John helped set up the region’s first Starlink devices to enhance hurricane response, recovery and relief.

Gulfshore Business celebrated its 40 Under 40 honorees on Sept. 20 in Bonita Springs. Business Observer celebrated its 2023 winners on Oct. 13 in Lakewood Ranch.
