Cooking with Love: 2016 Cooking Classes by Norman Love Confections begin March 16

Norman Love Confections announces its 2016 classes: Cooking with Love. Beginning March 16 through September, the Hall-of-Fame chef chocolatier Norman Love and his award-winning team will share some of their techniques and lead participants through the process of creating artisan confections and exquisite desserts.

Norman Love Confections is offering an assortment of evening classes that begin at 6:30 p.m. with a wine reception and typically end around 9:30 p.m. The cost is $95 per person, per class. Classes are limited, so early reservations are encouraged. Due to health and safety regulations, closed toe shoes, minimal jewelry and sleeved shirts are required. Learn how to create a delicious array of cookies, including rich French Diamant butter cookies, beautiful jam-filled Linzer cookies and absolutely outstanding chocolate chip cookies with Norman Love Confections’ pastry chefs. Dates: April 6, July 13 and Sept. 21


Learn to make simple and delicious gourmet tarts guided by our pastry chefs. From decadent baked chocolate tarts to bright and festive fruit tarts, have fun along the way and take home your creations. Dates: March 23 and June 15

Easter Eggs:

Create your very own Easter egg chocolate sculpture filled with delicious Swiss milk chocolate truffles. Norman Love chocolatiers will guide you in creating and hand painting your own dark chocolate egg, which will also be beautifully packaged and ready to give or enjoy yourself! Dates: March 16 and March 23


Master the 100-year-old art of truffle making, from the luscious dark chocolate hand-formed truffle to the modern Swiss chocolate shell with fillings. Bring the finished treasures home to enjoy. Dates: April 20 and July 13

Chocolate and Wine tasting:

Prepare to enjoy a deliciously elegant night of chocolate and wine pairings hosted by Chef Norman Love. Learn the unique qualities of each of the featured chocolates, the history of chocolate making and the confection-making process, as well as the art of pairing chocolate and wine. Dates: May 18 and July 27

Molded Candies:

Let the chocolate masters at Norman Love Confections teach you how to make their famous jewel-like chocolate treasures including how to cast liquid chocolate, hand-color the shells and mixing the custom ganache to fill your candies. Dates: April 6, May 4, June 1, June 15, June 29, Aug. 10, Aug. 24, Sept. 7 and Sept. 21


Create custom cupcakes that will delight your friends and family. You will learn how to construct these sweet masterpieces from the rich chocolate batter start to fluffy buttercream finish. Dates: March 16, June 1 and Aug. 10

Layered Cakes:

Learn how to make rich dark chocolate cake, sweet and tart strawberry shortcake, and creamy chocolate peanut butter cake. Stack and finish your own cakes and enjoy a tasting at the end with the pastry chefs. Date: May 4 and Sept. 7

Home Desserts:

Norman Love Confections’ pastry chefs will teach you an array of dessert options you can comfortably make in your own kitchen. From the most popular Liquid Center Chocolate Cake to classic Vanilla Panna Cotta and decadent Chocolate Mousse Verrine. Dates: June 29 and Aug. 24
