The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company has announced that construction on its new office on Sanibel Island at 2450 Periwinkle Way is progressing and will be opening this fall.
“Before the storm, we began creating a warm, friendly and inviting home for our team, clients and neighbors. Creating this space has become even more important after the impacts of Hurricane Ian on Sanibel Island,” said Sanibel Market President Jeffrey Muddell. “Our clients trust and know us and want that feeling back on Sanibel. We also know that we have many new faces to meet.”
In addition to serving the company’s clients and staff, an oversized conference room and outdoor patio will be available for small groups in the community to use.
Construction on the new location began last year, was halted due to Hurricane Ian and resumed in 2023. The new office building, formerly Bank of America, was planned before Hurricane Ian damaged the original Sanibel office on Palm Ridge Road.
Architect Joyce Owens, FAIA, RIBA owner of Architecture Joyce Owens LLC and Studio AJO for interior design is responsible for the office design. Owens is known for her award-winning designs with contemporary and coastal style and use of sustainable materials. She has worked with The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company for more than 13 years, designing the original Sanibel Island office and other locations. She is also working on the design for their new Fort Myers office at Bell Tower, which will be opening later this year.
To bring Owens’ vision to life, collaborating with professional Office Fit Out Companies is essential. These specialists manage the detailed process of transforming the empty shell of a building into a fully functional workspace, tailored to meet specific needs. From layout planning and furniture installation to final finishes and technology integration, these companies ensure that every aspect of the office is executed with precision. Their expertise helps to create a productive and aesthetically pleasing environment, aligning perfectly with the innovative designs of leading architects like Joyce Owens.
Incorporating high-quality office furniture is a crucial step in this transformation. NorthEast Office Solutions offers a wide selection of both new and pre-owned office furniture, providing cost-effective solutions without compromising on style or functionality. Their extensive inventory ensures that you can find pieces that fit seamlessly into the design vision crafted by experts like Joyce Owens. Whether you’re outfitting a brand-new office or upgrading an existing space, NorthEast Office Solutions delivers furniture solutions that enhance the overall workspace, supporting both the aesthetic and practical needs of your office environment.
The interior plans for the new Sanibel building are functional and welcoming. Owens says it will have an Asian tropical feel, inspired by Singapore and Bali. The former drive-through will become a Zen garden, perfect for functions. “It’s very open, with rich natural materials that respond to the style of the building and the island’s climate and vegetation,” said Owen. “It meets both the level of sophistication and comfort The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company imparts.”
