Rescue operation finds 21 missing, endangered children
The National Child Protection Task Force led a confidential, multi-agency Missing Child Rescue Operation that located 21 endangered missing youth across Lee, Collier and Hendry counties. Dozens of local law enforcement, government agencies and nonprofits joined the effort, including A.N.A.’s Friends, Children’s Advocacy Center and Golisano Children’s Hospital. Priority Marketing provided event management services for the three-day operation and coordinated a news conference to announce results.

Cancer treatment center hits patient milestone
Southwest Florida Proton in Estero – the first cancer treatment center on Florida’s west coast to offer proton therapy – reached its 100-patient milestone just four months after opening. To treat additional patients, the center expanded operations from eight to 14 hours daily, which translates to 28-42 patients per day. It could expand to 16 hours daily this summer, more than six months ahead of projections.

Community steps forward to help nonprofits
Facing a fundraising shortfall, United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades partnered with Priority Marketing to educate the community about the impact of the nonprofit’s annual fundraising initiative. The firm helped launch a campaign, One in a Million, and executed a news conference in which a variety of community leaders shared messages encouraging support, including a $250,000 commitment from the Lee Health Foundation. Summer sparks reminder about fertilizer use
Lee County’s Fertilize Smart guidelines encourage residents to avoid the use of fertilizer from June 1 to Sept. 30 in unincorporated areas. Each year, Priority Marketing partners with Lee County to remind residents about the ecological impact of nitrogen and phosphorus found in fertilizers. Summer rain can send dangerous pollutants into local waterways.

Contractor launches off-island retail project
Benchmark General Contractors broke ground on Midpoint Gateway Retail Center, a 7,500-square-foot multi-tenant retail development in Cape Coral. Designed by GMA Architects and Planners, Midpoint Gateway will have space for five businesses, bringing them closer to the communities and neighborhoods that will support them. Benchmark has focused most of work in recent years on hurricane recovery on Sanibel and Captiva, so the project represents an expansion onto the mainland.

- Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff was named to the News Service of Florida 50 Over 50 list.
- Lee County Legal Aid Society housing attorney Sems Al‑Bazz was officially admitted to the Florida Bar.
New faces in new places: Promotions and appointments
Priority Marketing congratulates individuals who were recently hired, promoted or awarded additional responsibilities by its client partners, including:
- Wynn Companies added Paul Martinson, former chief financial officer for Rural King, as Naples-based real estate and retail company’s new CFO.
- Veteran federal prosecutor Marc S. Gromis has joined Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice, Purtz, Smith & Smith as an attorney.
- Lee County Legal Aid Society hired Kevin Sarlo as a staff attorney to expand the organization’s elder law practice while providing critical civil legal services to low-income residents.
- The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers welcomed Dawn Belamarich, president and CEO of Collaboratory, to its board of commissioners.
- Florida Trust Wealth Management announced the appointment of Logan S. Webb to chief investment officer.
- Curran Young Construction added two superintendents, David Rosario and Rory Guilfoy, as demand for construction services continues across Southwest Florida.
