Legacy airline begins selling tickets for new flights
The Naples Airport Authority and American Airlines are still finalizing terms of an operating agreement, but on the heels of a survey showing 80.3% of respondents favor commercial airline service, American began selling seats on flights between Naples and Charlote, North Carolina. Within the first two weeks of tickets going on sale, passengers already had booked more than 40 seats for flights on Dec. 2, the first day of operation.

Investment continues Times Square redevelopment
Benchmark General Contractors broke ground on Sunset Beach Resort, a $13-million, 41,285-square-foot mixed-use development that will help Fort Myers Beach reestablish Times Square as a vibrant destination. Times Square is the most visible and heavily trafficked area of Fort Myers Beach, but was destroyed four years ago during Hurricane Ian. The project is expected to take 18 months to complete.

Captiva resort continues transformation with latest announcement
South Seas continues its spectacular reimagination following devastation caused by Hurricane Ian in 2022. The family-friendly resort already has reopened amenities and launched new offerings, including a water play and recreation area, restaurants, golf course, arcade, watersports and shopping. The latest announcement came via Timbers Resorts, which opened reservations for Timbers Captiva Club & Residence. The 84-unit condominium will break ground in 2027 and feature a variety of floor plans.

Teens, athletes find new space in Fort Myers
Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County continued the transformation of a former events center into a flagship location with the dedication of two additions. First, community leaders joined Basketball Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman to dedicate the new Dream Court at Park Meadows Community Club. Then, supporters joined representatives of Suncoast Credit Union to dedicate The Club Teen Center, a dedicated space for collaboration and career planning.

Chocolatier brings back popular (and delicious) classes
Calling all aspiring chocolatiers and chocolate lovers! Norman Love Confections is again offering its popular chocolate-making classes, offering guests a behind-the-scenes opportunity to work alongside chocolate masters to create chocolates from start to finish, learning techniques such as hand-coloring molds, casting liquid chocolate and preparing custom ganache fillings.
