Builders Care presents BBQ, Bands and Brew fundraiser April 3

Builders Care, the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) is hosting the seventh annual BBQ, Bands and Brew on Sunday, April 3 from 11 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Lee County Alliance for the Arts, 10091 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers. All Star Equipment Rentals and Sales is this year’s title sponsor. The fundraiser is open to the public and will feature live music from Soapy Tuna, Rocker, Deb & the Dynamics and The Alter Ego Band of Fort Myers, along with several local barbecue restaurants, vendors, BBQ competition to name the Best BBQ in town and activities for kids. Admission is $10 per person. Children ages 12 and under are free, and free parking is available.

Also part of the event is the fourth annual Poker Run that begins at 9 a.m. at Six Bends Harley-Davidson and includes a ride around Fort Myers before ending at BBQ, Bands & Brew at the Lee County Alliance for the Arts. Registration is $25 and $10 for passengers, and includes admission to the event. Best hand wins $500 and Harley-Davidson gear.

New to this year’s event is a cornhole tournament, which will begin with registration from 11 a.m. to noon, with the tournament commencing at noon. The tournament is open to the public, double-elimination format and participants must bring a partner to play. The cost is $20 per two-person team, and prizes include $400 for first place and $100 for second place.

Builders Care is the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA). Its objective is to provide emergency repairs and construction services to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged people who are unable to obtain home repairs through traditional means.
