Brightwater Lagoon, a MetroLagoons resort-style amenity coming soon to the Brightwater community in North Fort Myers, is proud to announce Jimmy Cruz as general manager.
Cruz brings an impressive 30 years of hospitality experience at theme parks, resorts, public parks and residential amenity properties. He joined the MetroLagoons team in March 2023 to oversee pre-opening responsibilities and establish operations teams at Brightwater Lagoon. Moving forward, he will manage Brightwater Lagoon Operations, Water Safety, Water Quality and Food and Beverage teams.
Prior to moving to Southwest Florida, Cruz worked a collective 26 years at SeaWorld and Discovery Cove, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Universal Orlando in park operations supervisor and management roles. He also served as the director of operations and safety at Gathering Place Tulsa, overseeing special events, security, boat operations and safety of three properties.
“I love working with teams and developing great leaders,” said Cruz. “So far, we have built an incredible team here at Brightwater and we’re looking forward to providing Southwest Florida with a safe and fun environment to make great memories.”
