Better Together, a nonprofit dedicated to families and children, recently named Andrea Saputo Cox to its board of directors.
Saputo Cox is the president and owner of Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, a distributor of Anheuser Busch, Constellation and local/imported beers, liquor, wine and non-alcoholic beverages for Sarasota and Manatee counties. She holds the equity manager certification with Anheuser Busch and maintains all distribution agreements with 100+ suppliers, along with overseeing all aspects of the business.
The board supports Better Together in furthering its mission to help parents who are going through a hard time to keep their kids out of foster care, find work and address the root causes of their struggle so that they can reunite as a family with the tools and support system to thrive. Saputo Cox will serve alongside board members including Tarren Bragdon, Doug Campbell, Richard Vaughan and Christian Spilker.
“We are excited to add Andrea to our board of directors,” said Megan Rose, CEO of Better Together. “The board provides support and guidance as we work to keep families together, and Andrea’s insight and compassion will be valuable additions as we work to serve families throughout Florida.”
With the help of donors and hundreds of volunteers and church communities, Better Together builds lasting support systems that help families cope with hardships – such as job loss, substance abuse, homelessness and jail time – and ensures that children are cared for in a safe home until the family can be reunited. To date, the program has served over 9,000 children and kept 98% of families together, while helping 42,000 job seekers across 22 states find employment.
