Better Together, a nonprofit dedicated to families and children, is hosting a Spring Better Luncheon event for Manatee County parents on Saturday, April 6.
Better Together organizes luncheon programs at various locations to bring parents together for community, to support each other, and often hear from expert speakers, while their children play supervised in another room. The luncheon will provide background-checked volunteers in addition to lunch, games and fun for children to enjoy while parents attend the event.
The Spring Better Luncheon will feature speaker Lorraine Daidone, outreach community coordinator for Grace Life Church. Daidone’s story is one consisting of hard work, God’s grace and the love and support of a community. She understands and values Better Together’s mission, as she has worked to overcome her own hardships. Daidone is a single mother who recovered from addiction and has now purchased her own home. She is also a gifted writer, blogger and a volunteer family advocate for Better Together. She will share her story with luncheon attendees in hopes of inspiring them to face life’s challenges head on.
“Parenting is no easy task. No matter how much we try to prepare and learn, we all will have questions, struggles and concerns at some point when raising our children,” said Megan Rose, CEO of Better Together. “To help parents along their journey, our luncheons allow parents to enjoy lunch, companionship and expert advice while their children are under the supervision of background-checked volunteers.”
The April 6 Better Luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at First Baptist Bradenton, located at 1306 Manatee Ave. W. in Bradenton. Admission is free and includes lunch, as well as a prize drawing for parents in attendance.
