Bell Tower Shops to hold fundraiser on Aug. 23 for fallen Fort Myers police officer Adam Jobbers-Miller

In lieu of its monthly Thursday Night Live concert, Bell Tower Shops will host a fundraising event on Aug. 23 for fallen Fort Myers police officer Adam Jobbers-Miller.

Restaurants and boutiques at Bell Tower Shops, as well as community partners and law enforcement agencies, are participating in a community fundraising event and benefit concert to support the family of Jobbers-Miller.

The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23 in the parking area between Grimaldi’s Coal Brick-Oven Pizzeria and Blue Point Oyster Bar & Seafood Grille on the northeast side of Bell Tower Shops.

Grimaldi’s is sponsoring a beer and wine bar to help raise money, and will be joined by additional Bell Tower Shops restaurants providing food and beverages, gift cards and raffle items. Chico’s, Soma, White House | Black Market, Edison Ford Shoppe, The Cheshire Cat and Trader Rick’s have donated merchandise and gift cards for the raffle, and Regal Bell Tower Stadium 20 is providing movie tickets. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event.

Music will be provided by Brian Roberts of Toucan Do. Additional sponsors and supporters include iHeart Media and Y100.1, Fort Myers Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, South Trail Fire & Rescue District, Dr. Tim Verwest, Florida Weekly, Florida Everblades, C.O.B.R.A. Self-Defense System and the Junior League of Fort Myers.

Jobbers-Miller died July 28, exactly a week after being shot in the head while trying to apprehend a suspect accused of stealing a cellphone. Jobbers-Miller, 29, served the Fort Myers community as a police officer since September 2015.
