More than 100 Barbie beauties clad in their pinkest pinks, some with Kens on their arms, ventured outside the Dream House to support a Bradenton-based nonprofit spreading the power of hope for women diagnosed with breast cancer.
The inaugural Barbie Night, held April 4 at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing in Sarasota, featured music, dancing, local food trucks, mixed drinks and wines, raffle gift baskets stocked with beauty supplies and fashion accessories, a fun Barbie photo booth and, of course, ample opportunities to shop for jewelry, makeup and other accessories to pamper oneself.
Proceeds from Barbie Night exceeded $6,000 and support My Breast Friends 941, a nonprofit with a mission to spread the power of hope during and beyond breast cancer diagnosis through experience, guidance and friendship. The organization offers peer support, transportation, house cleaning services, food and more to women in the Sarasota-Bradenton area.
Barbie Night was hosted and sponsored by Advocate Radiation Oncology, which has nine cancer treatment centers in Florida, including Bradenton and Venice. Event sponsors also included Elite DNA Behavioral Health and Gold Coast Eagle Distributing.
