Ann Walsh appointed regional vice president of operations for Volunteers of America National Services in Southwest Florida

The Gulf Coast Village logo showcases a green abstract tree and a blue wave, symbolizing its vibrant community with the tagline "A Family of Senior Living Options." Founded by Jimmy Grimes, it reflects the commitment of dedicated staff to enrich senior living experiences.

Volunteers of America National Services has named Ann Walsh to the role of regional vice president of operations for Volunteers of America National Services in Southwest Florida, responsible for overseeing the successful operation and development of nonprofit continuing care retirement communities in Southwest Florida including Gulf Coast Village, Senior Choice at Home, The Preserve and The Colonnade of Estero.

Walsh brings more than 20 years of experience working in operations leadership roles in continuing care retirement communities and organizations, a senior living option that offers a full continuum of care and allows adults to live within the same community throughout their life. She most recently served as the senior vice president of operations for Lifespace Communities based in Des Moines, Iowa, overseeing 15 life plan communities across eight states. Prior to Lifespace, Walsh spent six years at Vi at Bentley Village in Naples supporting the community through an $80 million redevelopment project as the executive director. She also spent more than 11 years in various senior leadership roles for Erickson Senior Living, where she previously served as the vice president over a network of senior living communities across the country.

“Ann has a passion for serving seniors and building talented teams that have high levels of hospitality and quality of care,” said Jacci Nickell, senior vice president – healthcare operations of Volunteers of America National Services. “We are looking forward to Ann’s expert leadership over teams in Southwest Florida including the future opening of The Colonnade in Estero, Florida.”

In her new role, Walsh will oversee the official opening of The Colonnade, Estero’s first continuing care retirement community, coming soon to the Village of Estero. The Colonnade, sponsored by Volunteers of America, offers a unique approach to senior living that brings the latest developments in design, construction, services, activities, health care, and financial practicality to life on the Gulf Coast.

Walsh has a bachelor’s degree in health planning and administration from Penn State University as well as several leadership certifications. She and her fiancé currently live in Estero, where Walsh serves on the local YMCA board of directors and is a volunteer at the Animal Refuge Center (ARC) organization.
