Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, coming to Mercato, will present an outdoor screening of the movie JURASSIC PARK on Tuesday, March 19, at Mercato for its monthly series, Movies on the Lawn.
In partnership with Mercato, the screening of JURASSIC PARK begins at 7:45 p.m. on the event lawn, situated across from the future location of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema on the second level. Prior to the movie, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will present dinosaur-themed activities from 6 to 7 p.m. including a dinosaur egg hunt, dinosaur race and face painting, as well as giveaways of custom drawstring bags and bandanas for families to enjoy.
In Steven Spielberg’s massive blockbuster, paleontologists Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler and mathematician Ian Malcolm are among a select group chosen to tour an island theme park populated by dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA. While the park’s mastermind, billionaire John Hammond, assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt.
“As we build excitement for our upcoming opening, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema invites the community to join us for family-friendly activities followed by a special viewing experience at Mercato’s Movies on the Lawn,” says Tim League, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema founder and CEO. “We are thrilled to introduce Naples area visitors and residents to Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and give them the opportunity to learn more about the overall movie-going experience we provide our guests.”
As its first Florida theater, the new Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will be located in a 33,652-square-foot space in Mercato. It will feature 11 auditoriums updated with approximately 650 new luxury recliner seats, 4K digital projection, a revamped bar experience and a theme celebrating cinema’s greatest golf films, including HappyLand, a 9-hole movie-themed miniature golf course. The Austin-based cinema-eatery will be open to guests by Spring 2024.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will also be giving away a free year-long, two-person subscription to Alamo Season Pass – its monthly subscription service which entitles subscribers to one free movie per day – and a year of free mini golf. Sweepstakes rules and entry can be found here, while more information on Alamo Season Pass can be found here.
The monthly Movies on the Lawn event is free, but those planning to attend are asked to RSVP through the event page here. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the most comfortable viewing experience. This event is subject to change to March 26 due to weather conditions.
