Agency Access Q&A

What first drew you to Priority Marketing?

“I started at Priority Marketing as a summer intern while I was attending Florida Gulf Coast University. From the very beginning, I was particularly drawn to Teri’s entrepreneurial journey of building a successful business while prioritizing her family and the company’s deep commitment to giving back to the community. As a young professional just entering the industry, I wanted to work somewhere that shared my values, and I quickly found that here. The people, company culture and opportunity to make a meaningful impact have kept me here ever since.”

Why should businesses and nonprofits integrate public relations into their strategic marketing plan?

“Public relations is essential for building awareness and trust. Marketing helps tell your story, while PR earns credibility by validating that story through media coverage, community engagement and thought leadership. Whether you’re a business looking to grow or a nonprofit working to advance your mission, taking a proactive approach to engaging with the media and your community helps establish credibility, strengthen relationships and keep your organization top of mind with your key audiences.”

Beyond news releases, what are your go-to PR tactics that help clients connect with their target audiences?

“News releases are just one piece of a broader media relations strategy. Building strong media relationships and identifying compelling stories help organizations connect authentically with their audiences while earning third-party credibility. Another valuable PR tactic is pursuing awards because they provide independent recognition while elevating the visibility of an organization and its leadership. They’re also a meaningful way to celebrate the people and initiatives behind an organization’s success, from recognizing stand-out employees and dedicated volunteers to generous donors and impactful community programs.”

How do you define a successful public relations campaign?

“A successful campaign is one that drives measurable impact and supports an organization’s overall business goals. What I find most rewarding is seeing how PR helps move the needle through increased awareness, greater engagement and stronger community relationships. Those outcomes demonstrate that the message is reaching the right people and is making a powerful impression.”

How has Priority Marketing responded to the changing media landscape, and where do you see PR heading in the next 5-10 years?

“The media landscape is constantly evolving, and we’re evolving right alongside it by adapting to new trends, technologies and the changing ways people consume information. Looking ahead, authenticity, transparency and storytelling will only become more important. People want to support organizations and businesses that share their values and make a genuine impact in their communities. While trends and tactics may change, strong storytelling, thought leadership and trusted relationships will always be the foundation of effective public relations.”
