Since 2016, the event has raised more than $1.8 million to expand children’s health care in Southwest Florida
The 8th Annual MarineMax Yacht Gala raised more than $407,000 at “An Evening Under the Stars” Jan. 12, bringing the total raised since 2016 to more than $1.8 million for Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.
“We are so grateful for community partners like MarineMax who step up every year to support the well-being of children and families in Southwest Florida,” said Alyssa Bostwick, chief nursing and operations executive at Golisano Children’s Hospital “Their ongoing commitment to supporting the expansion of programs means that area children can receive the care they need close to home.”
At the annual gala under the stars, guests were able to step aboard stunning yachts, enjoy cocktails, dinner and entertainment by DJ Robert McDonald. The event included fabulous live and silent auction items, including a custom designed piece from Mark Loren Jewelry Designs, a 3-night Bimini Bahama’s getaway, and a luxury sunset cruise for 10 provided by MarineMax Fort Myers.
Emceed by Amanda Hall, weeknight anchor at WINK news, guests heard from Bostwick and Emad Salman, chief physician executive at Lee Health, about the newest programs and services underway at Golisano. A Fund-A Need for the hospital’s Little Red Wagon Fund also raised funds dedicated to advancing innovative programs, technologies and services at the children’s hospital.
Located in Fort Myers, the children’s hospital also provides services through pediatric specialty clinics in Port Charlotte and Naples, and innovative programs are integrating lifesaving health care into local schools and homes. The vision is to bring world-class health care closer to every child in Southwest Florida.
